Experience clearer skies in the Andes, manageable conditions in Mashpi, and active marine life in the Galápagos

Poised right on the equator, Ecuador is a land of dramatic contrasts — where snowcapped volcanoes, steamy rainforests, and otherworldly islands all somehow fit into one compact, adventure-packed country. Everyone knows about the Galápagos, where Darwin’s curiosity famously sparked a scientific revolution, but the magic doesn’t stop there.

On the mainland, Ecuador is wildly biodiverse and delightfully easy to explore. You can hop from cloud forest to volcano to Amazon basin in a single trip. Glide above the misty treetops of Mashpi in a Dragonfly gondola, scanning for neon-bright butterflies and rare birds flitting through the leaves. Trek through Cotopaxi National Park, where wild horses gallop across ash plains, condors wheel overhead, and the towering volcano steals the show. Then descend into the lush Amazon, a tangled green world where sloths snooze, caimans lurk, and the jungle pulses with life. And don’t skip Quito, a UNESCO-listed capital perched high in the Andes, where baroque churches and Inca stones share the same block. The Old Town is a labyrinth of cobblestone charm, but the city's soul is in its kitchens. Here, chefs are turning Ecuador’s bounty into a culinary movement that’s as exciting as the landscapes themselves.
